The two movie trailers above have inspired me to create an urban style teaser trailer as part of my coursework. I believe the urban theme I want to create will capture today’s corrupt community for teenagers and attract the right target audience. The movie tralier was successful for both these fims as they used the right codes and conventions. For example:

• Establishing shots
• Panning
• Close up- shows emotion
• Canted angles- shows chaos
• POV shot
• Birds eye view

The characters are portrayed as they are in today’s media. They are stereotyped as:

• Single moms
• Drug dealers
• Prostitutes
• Gangsters
• Police

Adulthood is set I a stereotypical urban city showing everyday life for teenagers struggling to succeed in life.

Adulthood narrative:

• Sam is released from jail after 6 years for killing Trife,
• He gets himself into trouble the day he is let out of jail and has to work his way out of it,
• He wants to change so try’s to make up with the people he upset and hurt,
• These people want revenge on him.

Will he create something positive from the destruction he caused?
